The two most important systems in your body are the two systems that were the first to develop in the embryo, and they are 1st, the Central Nervous System and 2nd, the Spinal Column. The CNS runs down the center of the spinal vertebrae which supports and protects it. The spine is the foundation of the skeleton by virtue of being the first part to develop and therefore controls the musculo- skeletal functions while the CNS controls the functions of everything else. When spinal misalignments happen from falls or jolts, starting in childhood, spinal misalignments will often cause pressure on the nervous system which can lead to a very wide range of musculo-skeletal and physiological health issues.

My Story

Born and raised in New Zealand, I was introduced to the principles of Chiropractic in my teens , though not as a patient, and after some dedicated research, [prior to the Internet] I came to the conclusion that if Chiropractic worked as well in practice as it sounded like it should in theory, how was it that everybody wasn’t taking advantage of it? I subsequently discovered that the Chiropractic principles work in practice just as well as they sound in theory, if anything, even better!

It wasn’t long afterwards that I decided to focus my future plans towards studying Chiropractic in the US and joining this noble profession. After completing high school, and my Pre Med qualification at University, I worked in mining exploration in the wilds of New Guinea for two years to earn sufficient funds to get a US student visa, followed by completing my military service, before I set sail for the US to embark on my Chiropractic adventure.

After graduating from Palmer College, I spent a year as an intern in California and then immigrated to Vancouver, BC, where I began my Canadian experience.

Along the way I have raised three adult sons and am currently grandfather to six granddaughters. I moved to Saltspring  with my partner Mary Jane in the Winter of 2014 after over a decade in the Maritimes, and prior to that I practiced in Vancouver for over 20 yrs. We wanted to live and work in a more temperate West coast climate in a rural setting, and Saltspring Island ticked all of the boxes for us, where we also now operate a small mixed farm on Southey Point which produces much of our food.
